President’s Greeting

Greetings Fellow Blue Knights,

A little about GaXVI. We chartered Nov. 07, 2007 in Lawrenceville Ga. This is the county seat for Gwinnett County. We have been a very strong supporter of many charity events in our area, such as C.O.P.S., Bikes for Barks (Canine Pet Rescue), and Ride for the Fallen. This is a ride that our chapter is the primary sponsor. In 5 years we have raised over $60,000.00 for C.O.P.S. which is the Concerns of Police Survivors. We also support our fellow Blue Knight chapters in other events that they sponsor. We are a chapter of 70 plus members and are going very strong. I have been the President 8 of our 10 years. I enjoy working with the organization and believe in the fellowship of our great organization. I have made many friends both in the states and across the world through Conventions, Regional Conferences, Personal travel, and through Social Media. I am proud and honored to be a member of such a strong organization of Law Enforcement Officers.

I want to send out a warm welcome to everyone from Ga XVI and we are looking forward to being your host for the 2018 Blue Knights International Convention in Stone Mountain Georgia. The event is pretty much in the center of the wonderful state of Georgia. We are working very diligently in making this an event that you won’t forget. Stone Mountain Park in itself has plenty to offer just inside the area in itself for the convention; however we would be doing you an injustice by not showing you more of what our beautiful state has to offer. As the time gets closer we will be posting more events on our website so please make sure you check the site as the time comes close.

We have some very nice escorted rides planned for you to places such as World of Coke, The Georgia Aquarium and wait if I tell you all of them then it will spoil the surprise. I will say this, you will be seeing the lakes, the mountains, and the back countryside of what our great state has to offer you. There will be rides that we will give you maps for so that you can take at your own leisure. We also have events that are set up at the hosting hotel as well as inside the park itself.

Some of the issues that have been dealt with at other conventions and conferences, we have tried our best to make very easy to deal with. Such as parking, camping areas, and even golf. We will have a designated area on site at the hosting hotel for parking to accommodate Motorcycles, Automobiles, and a separate area for Trucks and Trailers. The parking areas on site are FREE. LOL. There is a full hook up camp site close to the hotel, a lake where you can rent paddle boats and paddle boards. Believe me there are many other events and things to do. Just keep an updated look on our website for more information.

In closing I want to personally welcome you all to the 2018 convention. Come sit a spell with us on the back porch and have some Ice Cold Sweet Tea with us.

Randy Hoagland – President Ga XVI
